What was your first bike?
Raleigh Tomahawk with one stabilizer, I used to either fall off or go round in circles, much like life these days.
How do you know Dan?
Met while Dan was at Uni and he used to think Pontefract was the best rugby team in the world.
Before you started training, when was the last time you cycled?
I mountain bike fairly regularly but I don’t think it’s going to help much.
Why have you decided to do this challenge?
I have always wanted to contribute to something like this but work keeps me so busy I just don’t get the chance. However when you see your friends really making such great efforts you have to find the time.
What are you most looking forward to?
Spending quality time with close friends, as you get older and your commitments increase it gets harder to do, so this a great opportunity.
What are you most worried about?
Fitting in enough training in between work, travel and family commitments.
What do you want to achieve from this experience?
To raise a good amount of cash to help the cause and also to make sure I beat Pete Hanley across the line everyday.
How are you preparing for the challenge?
So far, I have looked at mountain bike alot, it is definitely where I left it. Seriously though I travel a lot with work so most of my training will be on a bike in the gym which will make the whole thing that bit more interesting.
Tell us something interesting about yourself?
The only time I played rugby against Dan he punched me! It didn’t hurt!
Who do you most hope to be mistaken for whilst cycling?
A cyclist rather than hillwalker!
