What was your first bike?
It’s a bit hazy, however my first new bike was a Raleigh Grifter…it was red, fantastic, had 3 gears and weighed an absolute ton.
How do you know Dan?
I was introduced to Dan through my friend and neighbour, Pete Hanley
Before you started training, when was the last time you cycled?
In the interest of “this is how to do it…look and learn son”, I rode my 6 year old son’s bike in the park when we took the stabilizers off…and skinned my right shin
Why have you decided to do this challenge?
Well, Pete Hanley said that I had to…and I thought that it would be fantastic to have the opportunity to be part of this inspirational challenge
What are you most looking forward to?
Setting off from Glasgow, riding through the Lake District, and stopping in Hathersage on the final leg
What are you most worried about?
Cars
What do you want to achieve from this experience?
To have in some way helped Dan and the Foundation with their fundraising aims
How are you preparing for the challenge?
Doing the odd Saturday afternoon ride in the Peak District combined with a brief refreshment stop at the White Hart in Bradwell
Tell us something interesting about yourself?
I was passed by Chris Boardman with 2 miles to go.
Who do you most hope to be mistaken for whilst cycling?
Someone who looks like they might know what they’re doing.
